In celebration of Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day, the Paskibraka team in Batam successfully carried out their duties with vigor and dedication, showcasing months of intense preparation and community spirit.
The Paskibraka (Youth Flag Raisers) of Batam were recognized for their flawless execution of flag-raising duties during Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day celebrations. This team, which had been in quarantine since July 29, 2024, to prepare for the event, demonstrated both discipline and enthusiasm throughout the ceremony.
The Paskibraka team underwent rigorous training and a strict quarantine period starting on July 29, 2024. Antik Rifa Cahara, the flag bearer, expressed pride and surprise at being selected, attributing the success to parental support and their own hard work.
The flag-raising ceremony held in the morning was a pivotal event, not just for the Paskibraka but for all residents of Batam. Riama Manurung, Head of the National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol) in Batam, emphasized the community’s support and prayers for the smooth conduct of the day’s events, including the evening flag-lowering.
Despite facing several challenges related to accommodation facilities during their quarantine, the organizers committed to evaluating and improving conditions for future Paskibraka teams.
