In a colorful and vibrant display, 8,000 participants took to the streets of Batam in the annual Development Parade, celebrating Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day at Dataran Engku Hamidah.
The Batam Development Parade 2024, held at Dataran Engku Hamidah, saw a massive turnout with 8,000 participants from various community groups showcasing the diverse cultural heritage of Indonesia, reflecting the unity and patriotic spirit of the region.
The parade featured an array of traditional costumes and elaborate floats, starting with a marching band and flag bearers, and included contributions from local government bodies, educational institutions, and community associations.
Mayor Muhammad Rudi officially commenced the festivities, emphasizing the parade as a reflection of gratitude and national pride on Indonesia’s Independence Day.
The event also highlighted the theme of ‘Unity in Diversity,’ with participants dressed in various regional attires, symbolizing the cultural mosaic of Batam and Indonesia at large.
