In a significant boost for regional development, Sembcorp Industries has partnered with Panbil Group to create two low-carbon industrial areas in Batam, Indonesia, marking a major step towards sustainable industrial growth.

Batam, traditionally known for its robust manufacturing sector, is set to redefine its industrial landscape through a groundbreaking initiative with Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries. This collaboration aims to develop two eco-friendly industrial parks that prioritize sustainable practices.

The first project, located in Tembesi, spans 100 hectares and will cater to sectors such as electronics, precision engineering, and pharmaceuticals. The second, a more extensive 500-hectare site at Tanjung Sauh, a designated Special Economic Zone (KEK), is poised to accommodate light to medium industries and energy-intensive businesses such as advanced manufacturing and data centers.
