Batam International Airport, managed by PT Bandara Internasional Batam (BIB), is set to expand its international flight operations, aiming to enhance tourism by connecting directly to Incheon, South Korea.
As part of efforts to promote Batam as a green and sustainable city, the management of PT Bandara Internasional Batam (BIB) is actively extending its range of international flights. This initiative aims to bolster tourism and economic growth in the region.
Starting October 27, 2024, PT BIB will operate a direct flight route to Incheon, Korea. This move is part of the airport’s strategy to tap into international markets and increase tourist visits to Batam.

In a recent strategy session, PT BIB discussed market development plans with various local stakeholders including hotels, golf courses, resorts, and ferry operators, aiming to create a cohesive approach to attracting international tourists.
PT BIB plans to host a Travel Boost Roadshow in Incheon on September 5, 2024. This event will involve key players in Batam’s hospitality and tourism sectors and aims to showcase Batam’s offerings to the South Korean market.
The initiative also includes the creation of joint tourism packages that highlight attractions in both Korea and Indonesia, aimed at enhancing the appeal to potential tourists and fostering bilateral tourism exchanges.
