In a significant step towards environmental preservation, PT Cipta Persada Mulia (CPM) has initiated a mangrove planting program at the Mangrove Ecotourism site of Bakau Serip in Nongsa, Batam. This project, which has started with the planting of 300 mangrove saplings, aims to restore and protect the vital coastal ecosystems.
The mangrove planting initiative by PT CPM is part of a broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) effort to enhance local biodiversity and provide natural protection against coastal erosion. This program is in collaboration with the local tourism awareness group, Pokdarwis Pandang Tak Jemu, highlighting a community-centric approach to environmental stewardship.
The project kicked off with the planting of 300 mangrove saplings, marking the beginning of a long-term commitment to restore the mangrove forests in Bakau Serip, with a target of 1,000 plants over three years.
The collaboration with Pokdarwis Pandang Tak Jemu and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) underscore the program’s commitment to sustainable mangrove planting.
