BP Batam is intensifying efforts to upgrade the city’s infrastructure, including the construction of a Light Rapid Transit (LRT) system, flyovers, and road expansions. These projects aim to alleviate daily traffic congestion and enhance economic growth through improved accessibility.

BP Batam, under the leadership of Muhammad Rudi, is spearheading several infrastructure projects designed to address traffic congestion and support the economic upliftment of the community. The agency is committed to completing these projects by 2029 to facilitate smoother traffic flow and attract further investment to Batam.

The agency is undertaking the construction of flyovers and road widening from Simpang Kepri Mall to Bundaran Sagulung, aimed at easing the significant traffic congestion experienced during peak hours.

The flyover at Simpang Kepri Mall has transitioned to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), emphasizing the scale and importance of these infrastructure projects.

Plans for the LRT, currently in the feasibility study phase conducted by the STRIDES consortium from Singapore, represent a significant leap towards modernizing Batam’s transportation landscape.
