Methamphetamine Lab Busted in Batam Apartment, Three Arrested

In a significant crackdown on drug manufacturing, Kepri Regional Police dismantled a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory in Queen Victoria Apartment, Batam, capturing three individuals and seizing substantial quantities of liquid meth.

The raid, conducted by the Directorate of Narcotics Investigation of Kepri Regional Police on Monday, May 27, 2024, followed two months of meticulous investigation triggered by community tip-offs.

The operation led to the arrest of three suspects, including a married couple, in apartment 18-C2. Authorities found them processing liquid meth into crystal form.

Police confiscated 62 bottles containing 33.5 liters of liquid meth, with six bottles already processed into crystals. An additional ten bottles were prepared for transport to Palembang for further processing.

The suspects, identified only by their initials AR, FM, and IS, tested positive for methamphetamine use. They face life imprisonment or the death penalty under stringent narcotics laws.
