At a lecture at the National University of Singapore (NUS) on May 22, 2024, former Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, highlighted the crucial role of Indonesian youth studying abroad as future leaders and innovators for their homeland.
During his participation in a talk show organized by the Indonesian Students Association in Singapore titled ‘Navigate the Future: A Talk on Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Experience’, Ridwan Kamil, affectionately known as Kang Emil, engaged with young Indonesians, emphasizing their potential as the nation’s future.
Kang Emil discussed the importance of these areas for the upcoming generation, who will become future leaders and innovators.

He shared his experiences and successes from his ten-year leadership tenure in Bandung and West Java, stressing the role of youth in regional development through collaboration with local and international governments.
Ridwan Kamil highlighted the significance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in driving local economies and encouraging young people to venture into entrepreneurship without fear of failure.
Post-politics, he ventured into the food and beverage industry with Jabarano Coffee, which has expanded internationally, demonstrating the global potential of local products.

His new venture, R1 Skin Care, launched in March and is preparing to enter the ASEAN market, exemplifying the international reach of local Indonesian products.
