In a collaborative effort to promote maritime culture and tourism, the Government of Kepri Province and the Indonesian Navy will host the Navy Open Water Swimming Kepri 2024 at Tugu Sirih, Tanjungpinang, on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
The Navy Open Water Swimming Kepri 2024 is designed to instill a love for the maritime spirit among the youth and the general public, enhancing the marine tourism sector of the Kepri Province.
Governor Ansar Ahmad highlighted the event’s dual objectives: to nurture a maritime spirit and boost tourism, particularly marine tourism in Kepri.
The event features multiple categories, including a 3,000-meter open water swim for TNI/Police and public, a 1,500-meter swim for beginners aged 13-16, and a 1,500-meter rubber boat paddling race for high school students.

Competitors stand to win certificates, medals, and financial incentives, fostering competitive spirit and achievement.
The event will also include a bazaar featuring local micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM), supporting local businesses and community participation.
