ChildFund International, in collaboration with the Yayasan Cita Masyarakat Madani (Yacita), held the National Child Protection Meeting in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, from May 14 to 17, 2024. This meeting coincided with the Child Protection Meeting for Asia, aimed at bolstering cooperation and sharing insights on sustainable child protection strategies.
The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to deepen their cooperation, exchange knowledge, and identify challenges and sustainable solutions for protecting children across Indonesia and Asia.
Despite global efforts, significant gaps remain in effectively leveraging local knowledge and practices in child protection. ChildFund emphasizes the importance of understanding local contexts to develop effective protection strategies.

The meeting highlighted ChildFund’s commitment to working with local and national partners to protect children from violence, exploitation, and abuse. This involves close collaboration with governments, non-profits, and civil society.
ChildFund International plays a crucial role in facilitating collaboration among professionals, practitioners, and stakeholders in the field of child protection, aiming to integrate and optimize local and international protection practices.

ChildFund International in Indonesia has launched various programs to mitigate the risks children and youth face from violence and exploitation, both online and offline. These include enhancing awareness of vulnerabilities, developing referral pathways for child protection issues, and supporting local committees with paralegal skills to access justice and basic rights.
The National Child Protection Meeting underscores the vital role of collaborative efforts in enhancing child protection systems in Indonesia and across Asia. Such initiatives are crucial for creating safe environments where children can thrive and develop.
