Celebrating ASEAN’s cinematic talents, Indonesian creators stand out with multiple accolades at the prestigious Bangkok ASEAN Film Festival, held from March 28 to 31, 2024.
From short films to ambitious projects, the festival highlights the rich storytelling diversity and creativity within the ASEAN region, with Indonesia taking center stage.
Khozi Rizal’s “Basri and Salma in a Never-ending Comedy” receives special mention in the ASEAN Short Film Competition 2023, showcasing the film’s unique narrative and artistic execution.

“A Ballad of Long Hair,” a joint project between Indonesia and Singapore, directed by Giovanni Rustanto and produced by Annisa Adjam and Fran Borgia, is honored as the Runner-Up, highlighting the collaborative spirit and talent across the region.
Theo Rumansara, alongside producers Axel Hadiningrat and Goovanni Rahmadewa, secures the White Light SEAPITCH Award for “The Intruder,” marking a significant achievement for Indonesian cinema in project pitching competitions.
The Ministry of Culture of Thailand’s commitment to hosting the festival for nine consecutive years aims to promote the ASEAN film industry and position Bangkok as a cultural and creative hub for tourists.
