Amidst the push for digital transformation, Batam has introduced the Fuel Card 5.0, partnering with PT KB Bank, PT Bank Sumut, and PT Bank CIMB Niaga TBK. This initiative not only promotes non-cash transactions but also aligns with the national movement towards a cashless society.
The Fuel Card 5.0 is designed to control the distribution and purchase of Pertalite fuel, aiming to ensure efficient and targeted distribution. The Mayor of Batam sees this as a model for future technological adaptations in areas such as waste management and parking services.

The initiative also includes socialization efforts to inform the community about the new fuel purchase method using the Fuel Card, ensuring a smooth transition for users by July 31, 2024.
