The Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2024, a flagship B2B furniture exhibition in Indonesia and the region, has brought new hope for economic growth by attracting over 13,000 international buyers. Held at the JIExpo Kemayoran in Jakarta, the four-day event has become a significant contributor to Indonesia’s furniture industry, with transactions reaching USD 300 million, equivalent to approximately SGD 402 million.
IFEX 2024 marks a significant achievement in Indonesia’s efforts to promote its furniture products globally. The event has drawn attention to the importance of government support in policies, such as prohibiting the export of raw materials like rattan, to ensure the sustainability and growth of the local industry.
With 13,730 international buyers from regions and countries including Europe, Australia, China, the United States, and emerging markets like India and the Middle East, IFEX 2024 has doubled its international participation compared to the previous year.
The expo’s transaction value of USD 300 million highlights the furniture industry’s significant contribution to Indonesia’s national economy, demonstrating resilience in the face of global economic challenges.
