The Minister attributed the lower commodity prices in Batam to the effective management and efforts of the local administration, led by Mayor Muhammad Rudi.
Notable drops in prices were observed for key commodities such as chilies, which previously cost over Rp 120,000 per kilogram but now sell for around Rp 50,000 per kg, and chicken, priced at Rp 30,000 per kg.
The decline in commodity prices is largely due to abundant supplies from major producing regions such as Mataram and Aceh, resolving previous challenges that caused high prices.
