The team from Kertajati International Airport in West Java visits Batam to promote their services and gather insights from travel and aviation stakeholders, signaling a strategic expansion to increase passenger traffic between these regions.
One month into operation, Kertajati International Airport’s outreach in Batam aims to tap into the significant travel potential, considering the large number of Batam residents originating from West Java and Central Java.
Muhammad Singgih, Director of PT. BIJB Kertajati, highlights the airport’s strategic location and its ability to serve passengers traveling to various regions in West Java and the western part of Central Java.

The airport, boasting a 60×3000 meter runway and extensive passenger and cargo terminal facilities, provides an appealing alternative to Soekarno-Hatta Airport for travelers heading to West Java.
Efficient and affordable transportation options are available from Kertajati to nearby cities, enhancing the airport’s accessibility and convenience for travelers.
Alvin Lie, Chair of the Indonesian Aviation User Association, suggests that promoting Kertajati Airport should also include highlighting West Java’s tourism potential, offering an array of natural landscapes, culinary delights, and cultural attractions.
