Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Technology Nezar Patria highlighted the complexities of formulating AI usage guidelines during a Focus Group Discussion in Jakarta, stressing the urgency given the autonomous nature of generative AI.

The government is actively seeking input from stakeholders to ensure that the upcoming Circular Letter serves as a foundational step for more comprehensive regulations.

A public seminar will soon be held to discuss AI developments and the draft Circular Letter, aiming to involve the wider community in the policy-making process.
