The 12th National Folding Bike Jamboree (Jamselinas) in Batam has set a new record for international attendance, with thousands of folding bike enthusiasts from Indonesia and abroad participating in the event.
The annual Jamselinas, launched by the Head of BP Batam, Muhammad Rudi, highlights Batam’s evolution from an industrial city to a burgeoning tourist destination.
Infrastructure in Batam is being developed to support tourism, aiming to host national and international events.
Over 2,500 participants from across Indonesia and countries like Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Australia, and Thailand joined the 12th Jamselinas.

The event also celebrated record-breaking achievements, including the most participants on Brompton bikes and the largest contingent of international cyclists.
Event organizer Indra Haryanto expressed gratitude for the overwhelming enthusiasm shown by participants, despite the costs associated with travel.
Malaysian participant Edaa Syuib shared her enjoyable experience cycling through Batam’s challenging terrains, applauding the city as an excellent destination for cyclists from Malaysia.
The success of Jamselinas in Batam demonstrates the city’s readiness to host major tourism events, providing an exciting and culturally rich experience for Singaporeans and international visitors alike.
