As the North Wind season approaches, the Kepulauan Riau Ombudsman’s proactive steps ensure Anambas is ready.

Dr. Lagat Siadari, the head of the Ombudsman for the Kepulauan Riau region, with his team, conducted an unexpected inspection of the Diesel Power Plant (PLTD) – PLN Tarempa.

The visit aimed to affirm the readiness of the power plant serving as the primary electricity source in the Anambas Islands, particularly in Tarempa city.

Ombudsman’s field visit revealed the plant’s capacity of 3.4 MW from six engines, sufficient to meet Tarempa’s peak demand of 3.2 MW at night and 3 MW during the day.

While the power supply is deemed secure with reserves, one generator awaits spare parts, risking outages in specific areas like the Siantan sub-district.

Efforts are being expedited to deliver the spare parts to the power plant to prevent disruptions, especially with the upcoming North Wind season.

Dr. Lagat has coordinated with PLN’s Tanjungpinang Head, Apreza Pashya, emphasizing the urgency of the spare parts delivery.

With the Ombudsman’s thorough review, Singaporeans and international visitors to Anambas can expect reliable electricity during their stay, even as the region braces for the seasonal North Wind.

Ombudsman Kepri’s inspection of Tarempa’s PLTD in Anambas Islands verifies operational continuity and prepares for the North Wind season, ensuring uninterrupted power supply for residents and visitors alike.
