Indonesia’s economic strength is notably robust compared to European nations, setting the stage for the country to become a significant influencer in the Asia-Pacific and international arenas. The renowned SIAL Interfood exhibition, now in its 24th iteration and third occurrence in Indonesia, promises to elevate the country’s profile in the global food and beverage industry.

The SIAL Interfood 2023, taking place from November 8-11 at the JIExpo Kemayoran in Jakarta, is anticipated to attract a larger audience than the previous year. The event underscores Indonesia’s burgeoning influence in international trade, particularly in the food and beverage sector.

The exhibition features 895 companies from 20 countries, showcasing an array of food, beverages, ingredients, equipment, and technologies catering to the HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, Cafe) sector. Over 100 SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) will also participate, highlighting Indonesia’s diverse culinary offerings, including ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat products, spices, and seasonings.

Beyond displays of food and beverages, the exhibition will feature competitions in coffee, wine-making, chocolate production, vegan cuisine, and food preservation technologies, adding a dynamic edge to the event.

In a bid to facilitate business connections, Krista Exhibitions CEO Daud D Salim announced provisions for accommodation for buyers for up to three nights, enhancing international trade opportunities.

The Indonesian Ministry of Trade aims to boost non-oil and gas exports through the event, by facilitating the participation of 10 export-oriented SMEs, spotlighting the potential for business contracts and increased global visibility of Indonesian food and beverage products.

Apart from showcasing SMEs, the Ministry of Trade will provide trade information services and export opportunities to businesses, underscoring the government’s commitment to industry growth.

SIAL Interfood 2023 represents not just a window into Indonesia’s rich culinary landscape but also signals growing trade and investment opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region. The exhibition’s focus on innovation and international participation makes it a pivotal event for industry insiders and food enthusiasts alike.

The SIAL Interfood 2023, a significant international food and beverage exhibition, is set to propel Indonesia’s presence in the global market. Featuring a wide array of products, from ready-made foods to cutting-edge culinary technologies, and supported by Indonesian government initiatives to bolster exports, the event is poised to be a cornerstone in the country’s economic growth and international trade relations.
