The province of Kepulauan Riau, known as Kepri, is all set to host the Dekra Fest 2023, showcasing the vibrant and diverse textile heritage of its seven city districts. This grandeur event epitomizes the economic potential and natural beauty of Kepri’s textile realm, from grassroots artisans to renowned designers.

Dekra Fest 2023, orchestrated by Dekranasda of Kepri, is not just a celebration but a stage for the rich, natural assets and distinct characteristics of Kepri’s seven city districts. The event aims to magnify the significance of textiles as both an inspiration and a solid economic pillar, especially for Kepri’s small and medium-sized businesses.

The event, scheduled from 2nd to 4th November 2023 at Tanjungpinang’s regional building, promises a potpourri of activities – bazaars featuring crafts and textiles, women’s organization and SME showcases, new entrepreneur stalls, a culinary feast titled “Singgah Jamah”, and art performances.

“Musika Nusantara” will grace the event with its musical artistry, accompanied by street musicians and traditional dance troupes from Tanjungpinang. Additionally, a fashion spectacle spotlighting Kepri’s acclaimed designers is bound to leave attendees spellbound.

The zenith of the event on the final night, awaits the unveiling of “Kumalayoe”, a collaborative textile masterpiece combining local wisdom. This momentous occasion will see the presence of dignitaries including the Governor of Kepri, H. Ansar Ahmad.

Hj. Dewi Kumalasari Ansar, the chairperson of Dekranasda Kepri, emphasizes the fest’s role in strengthening bonds amongst SMEs, women’s organizations, government officials, and the general public.

Kepri’s standout products to be exhibited include the “tudung manto” from Lingga, “tikar serasan” from Natuna, and other exquisite textiles that exude the elegance and uniqueness of Kepri’s craftsmanship.
