An agreement was reached to form a team dedicated to drafting recommendations for the implementation of VoA and reducing ferry ticket costs.

The new VoA policy is hoped to allow tourists a 3-5 day fee-free period before any charges are applied.

Eva Betty, the Chairperson of ASITA Kepri, expressed optimism that resolving these issues would significantly elevate the tourism sector, aiming for tourist visits to surpass one million.

The strategic changes in ferry fares and VoA policies by Kadin Batam could mean a more accessible and budget-friendly travel experience from Singapore to Batam. This initiative not only promises to enhance travel convenience but also highlights Batam’s commitment to being a welcoming, tourist-friendly destination in the region.

Kadin Batam’s recent Tourism Coordination Meeting addressed crucial factors like the reduction of Batam-Singapore ferry ticket prices and the optimization of Visa on Arrival policies. These efforts are set to bolster tourism, potentially increasing the number of visitors, thus making Batam an increasingly attractive destination for both Singaporean and international tourists.
