Officials from Tanjungpinang and PT. Pelindo convened in a coordination meeting to discuss strategies for improving the service and infrastructure at the Sri Bintan Pura port.
On Friday, 27th October, a meeting was held at the Bappelitbang office in Tanjungpinang. Attendees included top figures from the city, the KSOP, the Transportation Department, and shipping company directors, all focused on discussing the port’s enhancement.
Hasan, the acting Mayor of Tanjungpinang, pointed out that the Sri Bintan Pura port is one of the busiest gateways for the locals, emphasizing the need for improved infrastructure and service.
Given the city’s proximity to neighboring countries and its importance as the capital of the Riau Islands Province, Hasan underscored the necessity for adequate parking facilities to accommodate the influx of vehicles into the city.

Hasan advocated for the acceleration of public service digitalization, suggesting the introduction of digital technologies like e-ticketing apps for passengers, aiming for more efficient ticket purchasing and transparent passenger data recording.
Support for the digital transformation was echoed by the Head of the Tanjungpinang Transportation Department, Bobbi Wira Satria, and Assistant Passenger Terminal Manager from Pelindo, Raja Junjungan Nasution, highlighting its alignment with national anti-corruption strategies and its role in fostering transparency.
Nasution revealed that ever since the construction of a new terminal building in 2017, the port has started its journey towards digitalization and emphasized the readiness to support the implementation of e-ticketing for a more contemporary and efficient service.
The ongoing digital enhancements at the Sri Bintan Pura port signify a strategic move towards accommodating increased international visits, potentially boosting tourism and trade activities. For Singaporeans and other international visitors, this could mean smoother, more efficient transit experiences when visiting Tanjungpinang, reinforcing its appeal as a key destination in the region.
Tanjungpinang officials, along with PT. Pelindo, are taking strides towards digitalizing the services at Sri Bintan Pura port. The move, supported by major stakeholders, seeks to modernize the port’s operations, promising a more streamlined experience for locals and international visitors alike.
