In the thriving archipelago of Indonesia, the city of Batam stands out, marking its prominence in the digital startup ecosystem. Recently, seven startups from Batam grabbed the spotlight at the Demo Day, an integral part of Indonesia’s ambitious National Movement for 1000 Digital Startups.

Indonesia’s startup industry, experiencing its golden age, welcomes a new chapter with Batam’s emerging digital entrepreneurs. The National Movement for 1000 Digital Startups, spearheaded by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, offers robust support, nurturing promising startups to meet the challenges of the digital future.

The city of Batam witnessed seven pioneering startups showcasing their innovative solutions at the Demo Day. These startups, ranging from waste management to digital accounting services, underscore the diverse potential within Indonesia’s growing digital landscape.

Ory Dwiputra, the Hub Manager for the National Movement in the Riau Islands and Jambi region, emphasized the government’s commitment to bolstering the digital startup ecosystem through mentoring, resources, and support, all without any cost to the entrepreneurs.

The startups — To Clean, Kasfloo, Posan, Warebox, Filent, Nexabeef, and Elevate — represent the forefront of Batam’s entrepreneurial spirit, tackling issues from environmental management to tech-enabled services for businesses and individuals.

The Deputy Mayor of Batam, Amsakar Achmad, reaffirmed the city’s commitment to digital transformation, acknowledging the role of startups in shaping the future, especially considering Indonesia’s demographic dividend and vision towards a golden era by 2045.
