In a recent initiative, 80 tourism and creative economy practitioners in Tanjungpinang received specialized training in culinary digitalization and branding, driven by the city’s Department of Culture and Tourism.

Spanning three days from 12th to 14th September 2023, the participants, originating from the fashion, crafts, and culinary sectors, underwent extensive training sessions spearheaded by expert speakers in the respective fields.

Muhammad Narzi, Head of Tanjungpinang’s Department of Culture and Tourism, emphasized the depth of the sessions, with participants diving deep into innovative cooking techniques, efficient kitchen management, and crafting unique culinary products to captivate customers.

Beyond culinary prowess, the training also honed in on the nuances of digitalized branding. From marketing to sales in tourist villages, homestays, and souvenirs to photography and building a powerful brand image in the market, the sessions were comprehensive.

The goal is to augment the allure of tourism destinations and the creative economy in the capital of the Kepri province, stated Narzi on Tuesday, 12th September.

To maximize the training’s potential, participants were divided into two main groups. While one group of 40 tackled digital branding intricacies, the remaining 40 immersed themselves in the culinary domain.

Narzi’s encouragement resonated throughout: “Follow this training attentively so that the knowledge imparted by the experts can be seamlessly implemented for the growth of your businesses.”

This dedicated push towards digitalization in branding and culinary expertise indicates Tanjungpinang’s ambition to position itself as a leading destination for both domestic and international visitors. For Singaporeans and international tourists alike, this means an elevated travel experience with enhanced culinary offerings and innovative brand experiences in the city.

Tanjungpinang’s Department of Culture and Tourism champions the enhancement of its creative economy by providing 80 industry practitioners with digital branding and culinary training. The move is set to enrich the city’s appeal, promising enriched experiences for both Singaporeans and international visitors.
