The Batam Free Trade Zone Authority (BP Batam) launched SAPA Batam, a specialized task force for handling legal complaints and resolving issues, to improve the investment climate in the region. The platform was introduced during a socialization event on Monday (14/10/2024), with the goal of enhancing transparency and boosting public trust.
BP Batam’s Legal and Organizational Bureau hosted the socialization event to introduce SAPA Batam, a task force dedicated to managing and resolving legal complaints. Alex Sumarna, Head of BP Batam’s Legal and Organizational Bureau, emphasized that the initiative addresses the growing demand for more efficient legal complaint handling, crucial to fostering a more favorable business environment.
The SAPA Batam platform will enable residents and businesses to submit legal complaints via a user-friendly web and mobile application. Set to launch later this week, the platform aims to accelerate the process of reporting and addressing complaints, supporting Batam’s push for a more transparent and accountable investment climate.

Alex emphasized that SAPA Batam is crucial for improving BP Batam’s public image and boosting investor confidence. The task force is designed to address legal issues swiftly, ensuring businesses can operate smoothly without unnecessary legal obstacles.
The event also featured a discussion led by Imbuh Agustanto, Head of Internal Audit at BP Batam, focusing on the prevention of legal violations, especially corruption.
