In a significant crackdown, the Directorate of General Crimes (Dirtipidum) of Bareskrim Polri has dismantled an international online scamming group, arresting 21 individuals and halting a scheme that generated up to SGD 3.4-4.2M monthly.
This elaborate scam, spanning multiple nations, leveraged popular dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, and OkCupid to ensnare victims in a web of deceit, using false profiles to establish romantic connections before defrauding them.
The raid, executed on January 17, 2024, in West Jakarta’s Taman Anggrek Mall Condominium, led to the apprehension of 21 perpetrators, including 19 Indonesians and two foreigners, revealing the network’s international scope.

The criminals engaged victims with false romantic intentions, eventually luring them into fraudulent online business ventures, specifically directing them to a fake online shop at https://oshop66accgolf.com and deceiving them into making hefty deposits.
Each criminal operated multiple fraudulent personas, maximizing their illicit gains to an estimated SGD 3.4-4.2M monthly.
Victims spanned globally, with 367 foreign nationals from countries like the United States, Germany, and India, indicating the vast reach of the syndicate’s operations.
