New platform will guide SMEs toward grants, overseas markets, and government services.
Singapore is using artificial intelligence to reduce one of the most persistent frustrations facing businesses: navigating multiple government agencies, websites, grants, and regulatory processes.
BizSG Portal Launches September 30
Singapore will launch the BizSG portal on September 30, 2026, as the first major component of a new whole-of-government BusinessSG initiative led by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Enterprise Singapore. Announced by Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling at the SME Centre Conference on September 9, the platform is designed to give businesses a single starting point for finding government support instead of searching across multiple websites and agencies.
AI Will Recommend Relevant Grants
At the center of the platform is an AI-powered grant recommender that will suggest assistance based on a company’s profile, plans, and business needs. It can also provide an initial indication of grant eligibility using government-held information such as company shareholding and employment size. Businesses will be able to describe what they hope to achieve and receive recommendations for relevant programs, with the government aiming to eventually make BizSG a digital concierge for SMEs.
EDGE Combines Three Major Grants
Among the support available from launch will be EDGE, a consolidated scheme combining the Enterprise Development Grant, Market Readiness Assistance Grant, and Productivity Solutions Grant. EDGE covers more than 150 activities across eight business areas, including digitalization, innovation, business efficiency, and overseas expansion. Singapore plans to progressively add the full range of government grants to BizSG during 2027.
Overseas Expansion Tools Included
BizSG will also support Singapore companies seeking international growth by providing trade data, tariff information, and market contacts across 30 markets and 13 industries. Over time, AI and emerging agentic technologies are expected to help simplify other government transactions, including license applications and business filings. These capabilities will be tested and introduced progressively rather than becoming available all at once.
Nearly 700 Businesses Tested Beta Platform
The portal was developed after consultations with trade associations, SME Centre advisers, and nearly 200 companies, while close to 700 businesses have used its beta version since October 2025. The launch also comes as AI adoption among Singapore SMEs accelerates, with Low citing a Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry survey showing that 77 percent of SMEs have adopted AI. More than 40 AI capability workshops have also reached nearly 2,000 SMEs over the past year.
BizSG represents Singapore’s broader push to make government support easier for businesses to find and use while accelerating AI adoption across the SME sector. Singapore companies could benefit from less administrative complexity and faster access to growth programs. For Indonesian businesses, particularly those working with Singapore or exploring the Singapore market, the initiative also demonstrates how digital government infrastructure can strengthen SME competitiveness and international expansion.
