Police recover suspected drugs, paraphernalia and vaporisers from illegally parked vehicle in landed estate.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested for suspected drug offences after police found her asleep in a car in a Sin Ming landed estate and uncovered suspected drugs, drug-related paraphernalia and vaporisers in the vehicle.

Initial Check On Parked Car
At about 8.50am on May 23, police officers checked on a white car parked along Jalan Minggu in a landed residential estate and found a woman asleep in the driver’s seat. They woke her and conducted further checks at the scene.

Discovery Of Suspected Drugs And Devices
Police said they recovered suspected drugs, drug-related paraphernalia and vaporisers from the vehicle and its surroundings. The woman was subsequently arrested for suspected drug-related offences and taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, according to both the police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

On-Site Inspection And K-9 Involvement
By around 11am, several officers were seen inspecting items taken from the illegally parked car at an intersection along Jalan Minggu, Chinese daily Lianhe Zaobao reported. Police K-9 unit dogs were deployed to sniff the seized items as part of the on-site investigation.

Referrals To CNB And HSA
The suspected drug offences have been referred to the Central Narcotics Bureau for investigation, while offences involving the vaporisers have been referred to the Health Sciences Authority, police said. Both agencies are expected to review the evidence as part of ongoing probes.

Ongoing Investigations
Police said investigations are under way and did not provide further details on the substances or devices recovered. The Straits Times has contacted CNB and HSA for more information on potential charges and enforcement outcomes.

The Sin Ming arrest shows how routine checks on suspiciously parked vehicles can uncover drug activity and restricted devices, even in quiet landed estates. For Indonesians and Singaporeans, it underscores the importance of neighbourhood vigilance and coordinated enforcement by police, CNB and HSA to keep residential areas safe.
