Dating app collaboration unlocks priority access and arts discounts

Valentine’s Day in Singapore is getting a cultural upgrade, as singles swap predictable dinner dates for immersive arts experiences backed by government support.

A First-of-Its-Kind Dating Collaboration
Singles ready to mingle can now enjoy exclusive perks through a new partnership between dating app Coffee Meets Bagel (CMB) and the Government’s $300 million SG Culture Pass initiative. The first batch of 11 promotions launches on Feb 14, marking the beginning of a year-long collaboration.

The tie-up offers priority access, ticket discounts, and special upgrades to date-friendly arts and culture events across Singapore. Among the highlights are priority access to Orchestra of the Music Makers Singapore’s Pixar In Concert, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s pop-inspired A Musical Box Of Chocolates, and an acrylic painting workshop by Sage Artelier.

Encourages The Singles
Other perks include $2 off tickets to Hell’s Museum at Haw Par Villa and an additional complimentary drink at the immersive dining experience Wonderland Upside Down. The goal is clear: to encourage singles to explore more meaningful and creative ways to connect.

Encouraging Intentional Offline Connections
In a Feb 11 media statement, CMB said the partnership is designed to inspire “meaningful, low-pressure date ideas that go beyond the usual dinner or cafe meet-ups.” Users can tap into their $100 SG Culture Pass credits, which have been available to Singaporeans aged 18 and above since Sept 1, 2025, and remain valid until Dec 31, 2028.

Ms Shn Juay, Chief Executive of Coffee Meets Bagel Worldwide, emphasized the value of shared cultural experiences. She noted that cultural dates naturally slow interactions down, helping ease first-date anxiety while opening space for richer conversations.

A 2025 YouGov survey found that CMB was the second-most popular dating app among Singaporeans, with 42 percent of dating app users having tried it. In response to The Straits Times, CMB revealed that the SG Culture Pass office initiated the collaboration with the US-based company.

Expanding Arts Access Across Communities
The Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, which administers the SG Culture Pass, said the collaboration aims to reach Singaporeans who are single and actively dating. MCCY added that it remains open to exploring partnerships with other dating apps and non-arts organizations to increase participation in local arts and heritage.

Beyond the dating scene, the initiative has also extended to more inclusive outreach efforts. In January 2026, MCCY partnered with the Agency for Integrated Care to engage nursing homes, allowing seniors with mobility challenges to use their credits for local arts events.

Strong Engagement Among Youngers
As of Jan 1, 2026, more than $10 million worth of credits have been used. Notably, young people aged 18 to 35 accounted for half of total usage, signaling strong engagement among younger Singaporeans.

This collaboration reflects how Singapore is blending technology, public policy, and culture to strengthen social connections. By aligning a popular dating app with a national arts initiative, authorities are not only encouraging romantic sparks but also boosting participation in local creative industries. The approach highlights how cultural engagement can serve both economic and social goals, offering a model that could inspire similar initiatives in Indonesia and across the region.
