The U.S. Central Command’s new coordination hub aims to support Gaza’s post-war recovery and aid distribution under the recent peace accord.

The United States has established a Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) in Israel to oversee humanitarian and stabilization efforts in Gaza following the U.S.-brokered peace deal to end the long-standing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

A New Step After the Ceasefire Agreement

The U.S. Central Command (Centcom) announced the creation of the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) in Israel on October 17, 2025, just five days after world leaders signed a U.S.-mediated plan to permanently end the war between Israel and Hamas. The initiative marks a significant shift toward post-conflict reconstruction and civilian governance in Gaza.

According to a Centcom statement quoted by RIA Novosti, the CMCC will serve as a central hub for humanitarian aid coordination, logistics, and security assistance to Gaza. However, U.S. military personnel will not be directly deployed to Palestinian territories.

Supporting Gaza’s Transition to Civil Administration

Centcom Commander General Brad Cooper emphasized that within the next two weeks, U.S. personnel will integrate representatives from partner nations, NGOs, international institutions, and private sector entities into the CMCC. “The center will play a key role in supporting Gaza’s transition toward civilian governance,” Cooper said.

The CMCC’s mission includes monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire, evaluating on-the-ground developments, and providing a platform for collaborative planning among international stakeholders.

Humanitarian Aid and Security Coordination

The CMCC is designed to streamline the flow of humanitarian assistance into Gaza, ensuring aid delivery under secure and transparent conditions. The center will also coordinate logistics and safety measures for aid convoys, working closely with regional partners to prevent renewed hostilities and safeguard relief efforts.

U.S. officials describe the move as part of a broader framework to stabilize Gaza and prepare for the region’s economic and institutional recovery.

The 20-Point Peace Framework

The CMCC’s establishment follows the October 13 signing of a comprehensive Gaza ceasefire agreement mediated by the U.S. and supported by major Middle Eastern leaders, including President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar, and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey.

The 20-point plan, announced by President Donald Trump on September 29, called for an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages within 72 hours, and the exclusion of Hamas and other militant factions from Gaza’s future governance. Control of the territory will instead be handed to a technocratic committee overseen by an international body under U.S. leadership.

Strategic Role for Centcom and Partners

The establishment of the CMCC signals a longer-term U.S. presence in regional stabilization efforts. By leveraging civil-military coordination, Centcom aims to align security operations with humanitarian and political initiatives — ensuring that aid delivery complements diplomatic progress.

Officials noted that partner nations and international NGOs are expected to play key roles in CMCC operations, creating a multi-layered framework for reconstruction and governance.

The formation of the U.S. Civil-Military Coordination Center in Israel marks a pivotal step in transitioning Gaza from conflict to stability. By integrating military coordination with humanitarian and governance support, the initiative seeks to ensure a sustainable post-war recovery while reinforcing U.S. diplomatic influence across the Middle East.
