Ukrainian crypto trader Kostya Kudo’s death shocks the community amid a US$19 billion market wipeout.

Ukrainian crypto influencer and trader Konstantin Galish, widely known as Kostya Kudo, was found dead inside his Lamborghini Urus in Kyiv on 11 October 2025, just hours after one of the biggest cryptocurrency market crashes since 2020. Authorities are investigating his death, believed to be a suicide linked to severe financial losses.

Influencer Found Dead Amid Market Turmoil

According to local reports, Konstantin Galish, 32, was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head inside his luxury SUV parked in Kyiv’s Obolonskyi district. Police found a licensed firearm registered in his name at the scene.

A statement from the Kyiv Police Department confirmed that investigators are determining whether the incident was suicide or foul play. Telegram posts from his official channels read: “Konstantin Kudo died tragically. The cause is under investigation.”

Just a day before his death, Galish had told relatives he felt “depressed due to financial difficulties” and even sent a farewell message, according to the authorities.

Crypto Market Suffers Its Worst Day Since 2020

Galish’s death came as the cryptocurrency market plunged following a surprise announcement from US President Donald Trump, who imposed 100% tariffs on Chinese imports and new export controls on key software.

Within 24 hours, over US$19 billion in crypto derivatives were liquidated, wiping out months of leveraged positions. Bitcoin fell by more than 13% in a single hour, while altcoins suffered extreme volatility.

Experts described it as one of the sharpest single-day collapses in recent years, triggering panic across global exchanges.

Galish’s Role in the Crypto Community

Galish was a co-founder and CEO of Cryptology Key, a trading academy with over 97,000 YouTube subscribers and 100,000 Instagram followers. Known for his luxury lifestyle—featuring cars such as a Lamborghini Urus 2020, Ferrari 296 GTB 2023, and Mercedes-Benz 220 CDI—he had become a prominent figure in Ukraine’s growing crypto scene.

Through his online platforms, he offered trading tutorials and strategies, gaining an international following. However, sources close to the investigation told Mint that Galish may have lost at least US$30 million in investor funds during the crash, possibly fueling the despair that led to his death.

Financial Pressure and Mental Toll

The extreme volatility of digital assets has long been associated with mental health risks among traders and influencers. Galish had previously spoken about the emotional strain of crypto trading and the fear of losing fortunes overnight.

His sudden death sparked an outpouring of grief across online crypto communities, with many calling for more open discussions about mental health in finance. “He showed us how fragile success in this industry can be,” wrote one Telegram follower.

Investigations Continue

Authorities in Kyiv are continuing to investigate the case. While early evidence points toward suicide, police have not ruled out other possibilities. The tragedy underscores how market crashes can have devastating personal consequences for those deeply tied to high-risk financial ecosystems.

Meanwhile, market analysts predict the crypto sector will enter a “stabilization phase” as investors adjust to new U.S.–China trade realities.

Konstantin Galish’s death is a grim reminder of how intertwined personal well-being and financial markets have become in the digital age. For investors in Southeast Asia, including Singapore and Indonesia—where crypto adoption is surging—the tragedy serves as a cautionary tale about risk management and mental resilience amid market volatility.
