Authorities classify case as murder after young woman’s body found near airport

Malaysian police have appealed to families of missing persons to step forward after a decomposed female body was discovered near Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on September 1.

Body Discovered Near KLIA

KLIA police chief ACP Azman Shari’at confirmed that members of the public found the body at around 7.50 pm on September 1. The victim, believed to be in her 20s, was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition without identification documents.

Victim’s Clothing and Condition

Investigators noted that the woman was dressed in a white T-shirt bearing the words “Fear Less” and cream-coloured cargo shorts. Due to the extent of decomposition, only the skull remained intact. Authorities estimate that the victim had been dead for about a week before being found.

Suspicious Injuries Detected

A post-mortem carried out at the Serdang Hospital Forensic Unit revealed four suspicious injuries on the victim’s body. Police have classified the case as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, though the motive remains under investigation.

Public Urged to Assist

ACP Azman urged families with missing relatives to assist in identifying the victim. Relatives and members of the public are encouraged to contact the nearest police station or reach investigating officer DSP Tee Ah Chew directly at 018-218 3555.

The discovery near KLIA underscores the urgency of police efforts to solve the case and provide closure to families of missing persons. As investigations continue, authorities emphasize the importance of public cooperation in identifying the victim and uncovering the motive behind the crime.
