33-year-old man reportedly slashed his partner before falling to his death from HDB block

A relationship dispute turned tragic in Woodlands, Singapore, when a man was found dead after allegedly attacking another man with a knife during a heated argument. The incident shocked residents and raised fresh concerns about domestic conflict behind closed doors.

Violent Dispute Ends in Tragedy

On the evening of June 21, 2025, police were alerted to a violent incident at Block 684A Woodlands Drive 73. At around 7:40 PM, a 33-year-old man allegedly slashed a 31-year-old man with a knife during a domestic dispute in a residential unit. The suspect then fled the scene, only to be found moments later lying motionless at the foot of the block.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force pronounced the man dead at the scene. A knife, believed to be the weapon used in the assault, was recovered from a nearby grass verge.

Residents Hear Quarrel, Then a Fall

Multiple residents told reporters they heard a loud argument coming from one of the upper units just before the fall. Moments later, a loud bang startled several neighbours. One resident recounted witnessing a young man being escorted to an ambulance with severe bleeding, but still conscious.


A fifth-floor resident shared that their family was having dinner when they heard the commotion and the sound of someone falling. “It was terrifying and sudden,” the resident added.

Relationship Tension Behind the Conflict

According to Shin Min Daily News and Lianhe Zaobao, the men involved were believed to be in a relationship. The 33-year-old was not a resident but a frequent visitor to the unit, which was occupied by the 31-year-old and his mother. Reports indicate that the mother witnessed the attack and called emergency services.

Police said the preliminary investigation suggests no foul play and are treating the case as a domestic conflict turned fatal. The 31-year-old victim was conscious when transported to Woodlands Health Campus for treatment.

Swift Police Response and Investigation

The Singapore Police Force responded promptly, cordoning off the area with at least eight police vehicles present. A blue tent was erected at the foot of the block, and evidence, including the knife, was collected. Officers remained at the scene until around midnight, continuing investigations and gathering statements from residents.

Authorities have ruled out third-party involvement but continue to examine the circumstances surrounding both the slashing and the fall.
