BP Batam hosted a media gathering in Jakarta on December 18, 2024, outlining its roadmap towards Indonesia’s ambitious 2045 Golden Era Vision. The event emphasized Batam’s transformative projects and its role in boosting national growth through innovative infrastructure and international investments.
The media gathering, titled “Update Batam 2024: Towards Indonesia Emas 2045,” was held at Hotel Manhattan, Jakarta. Key speakers discussed strategic initiatives, including infrastructure upgrades, investment boosts, and sustainable development plans to establish Batam as a new economic powerhouse.
Under the leadership of Muhammad Rudi, BP Batam has spearheaded significant infrastructure upgrades over the past five years. Projects include the expansion of Batu Ampar Port, the modernization of Hang Nadim International Airport, and the development of Batam Hospital.

Investment in Batam surged by 55.7% in the first half of 2024, reaching SGD $3.6 billion (IDR 43.36 trillion). This growth reflects Batam’s potential as a preferred destination for investors.
To address increasing water demands driven by investment, BP Batam plans to construct the Galang-Galang Reservoir at a projected cost of SGD $282 million (IDR 3.4 trillion). The reservoir, with a capacity of 2,600 liters per second, will support Pulau Rempang and Pulau Galang developments.
BP Batam is exploring innovative solutions, including desalination technology and wastewater recycling, to optimize water resources. Partnerships with international investors are underway to implement advanced water management systems.
