Keppel has suggested an alternative plan involving a longer cable from Singapore to Japan, with Vietnam as a potential branch. This approach would involve a consortium of investors, potentially diversifying funding sources.
Geopolitical Concerns Over Chinese Contractors
The U.S. has urged both nations to exclude Chinese firms like HMN Technologies from the projects, citing security risks. This highlights the geopolitical complexities of managing critical digital infrastructure in the region.
