Batam, November 20 — With the holiday season approaching, BP Batam has announced its readiness to handle the surge of travelers for Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025. In a meeting held at Hang Nadim Airport on November 20, 2024, officials discussed infrastructure upgrades, transportation support, and health services to ensure a seamless travel experience. The discussions involved stakeholders across various sectors, signaling a coordinated approach to accommodate the anticipated spike in passenger numbers.
BP Batam is focused on ensuring the smooth flow of travelers during the Nataru (Christmas and New Year) season. With an expected increase in traffic at ports and airports, the agency has collaborated with government ministries, transport operators, and health services to improve facilities and provide additional amenities for travelers.
In a meeting led by Syaiful Huda, Vice Chair of Commission V of the DPR RI, BP Batam, and stakeholders including the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Public Works, and private operators like PT Pelni, PT Pelindo, and PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, evaluated infrastructure readiness for holiday traffic.

Pikri Ilham Kurniansyah, CEO of PT Batam International Airport, confirmed that key upgrades are in place at Hang Nadim Airport to handle increased passenger flow. Similar preparations have been made at Batam’s ports to ensure efficient ferry services.
BP Batam is offering extra amenities, including health services at RSBP Batam and recreational options at Taman Rusa, Taman Kolam Sekupang, and Pulau Galang. These additions aim to enhance the overall travel experience during the holiday season.
BP Batam representative Wan Darussalam highlighted the agency’s commitment to working with various stakeholders to ensure traveler safety and comfort. Enhanced coordination between transportation, health, and emergency services is a priority.
