Batam Enhances Public Procurement Practices with New Training Initiative

In a move to refine the procurement processes and bolster local economies, Batam’s City Government has initiated a technical training program for civil servants and local business practitioners on modern procurement standards.


On Thursday, September 26, 2024, Jefridin, the Secretary of Batam City, inaugurated a technical training session aimed at enhancing the capacity of government procurement officials and local entrepreneurs. Held at the Santika Hotel in Batam Centre, the event marks a significant step toward refining procurement practices within the local government framework.


The workshop was designed to educate participants on the electronic procurement of goods and services, ensuring that all government acquisitions adhere to the principles of competition, fairness, and transparency, as outlined in Presidential Regulation Number 12 of 2021.
