In June 2024, Batam experienced a robust increase in its export figures, reaching $1.357 billion, a 5.96% rise from the previous month, fueled by growth in both the oil and non-oil sectors.

The total exports for June 2024 showed an increase of $76.32 million from May 2024, indicating strong monthly growth led by notable contributions from both the oil and non-oil sectors.

When compared to the same period in 2023, Batam’s exports have seen a cumulative increase of $46.82 million, showcasing a resilient export sector amidst fluctuating global economic conditions.

The non-oil sector, particularly electrical machinery and equipment, dominates Batam’s export landscape, contributing 47.13% of the non-oil export value in the first half of 2024.

Singapore remains the top export destination for Batam, reflecting strong bilateral trade ties. Other significant markets include the United States, Australia, China, and Japan.

The main export channels in Batam, Batu Ampar and Kabil/Panau Ports, have handled a combined $5.890 million in exports during the first six months of 2024, dominating the city’s export activities.
