In a significant step towards enhancing national logistics, the Indonesian government has teamed up with Singapore to develop an integrated logistics ecosystem, focusing on human resource development and digitalization.
During the Workshop of Envisioning ASEAN Logistics Connectivity held in Jakarta, Indonesia and Singapore articulated their shared vision for advancing the logistics sector. This partnership aims to foster economic growth and regional connectivity.
Hosted by Indonesia’s Ministry of Economy in Jakarta, the workshop was graced by key diplomatic figures and industry experts, including Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo and Singapore’s Ambassador to Indonesia Kwok Fook Seng.
Ali Murtopo Simbolon, Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, highlighted upcoming programs aimed at nurturing logistics professionals and enhancing regulatory frameworks.

The workshop discussed significant investments like the development of dry ports and the application of digital technologies, which are pivotal for optimizing logistics operations in Indonesia.
Recent reforms have successfully reduced the national dwelling time to 2.52 days, a significant improvement that positions Indonesia favorably within ASEAN standards.

The Indonesian government, supported by insights from economic data, is aiming to reduce logistics costs to 10% of GDP by 2033 and further down to 8% by 2045.
