In a recent event hosted by the Bank Indonesia’s Kepri representative, the burgeoning success of Batam’s digital creative industry was highlighted, showcasing significant international achievements and future potentials.
During the “Dissemination of the Provincial Economic Report and Fiscal Regional Study of the Riau Islands Province” event on June 25, 2024, the spotlight was on Batam’s digital creative sector, particularly its impact on the international stage.
Bella Yolanda, HR & GA Manager at Infinite Studios Batam, highlighted the studio’s international projects, including productions featuring notable actors like Reza Rahadian on platforms like Netflix.

Infinite Studios has progressively increased local employment from 2% in 2015 to 32%, aiming for 50% in two years, reflecting growing local expertise in digital arts within Batam.
Established in 2005, Infinite Studios now employs 300 staff and has developed extensive facilities for both animation and live-action productions, contributing significantly to the sector’s growth.
The digital creative industry in Indonesia has seen a 153% increase, with an annual growth rate of 26%. Batam, through studios like Infinite, plays a crucial role in this expansion by catering to international clients who appreciate the quality, speed, and cost-effectiveness of Indonesian digital arts.

The event also discussed technological innovations like VR, AR, AI, and blockchain, which are setting new benchmarks and opportunities in the digital creative fields.
