In a successful collaborative operation, Batam Customs and the Kepulauan Riau Regional Police (Polda Kepri) intercepted significant quantities of methamphetamine at key transport locations in Batam, reinforcing their commitment to safeguarding public health and security.
The recent operation conducted by Batam Customs and Polda Kepri highlights a robust response to the rising challenge of narcotics smuggling through the region’s ports and airports. Methamphetamine weighing 205 grams was found taped to an individual at Hang Nadim Airport, and another 100 grams were seized from a passenger at the Batam Center International Ferry Port.

One suspect was arrested at the airport facing potential charges leading to significant legal penalties, reflecting the severity with which narcotics crimes are treated.
The seized narcotics were publicly destroyed using an incinerator at Polda Kepri’s headquarters, witnessed by key officials, signaling transparency and determination in handling drug-related offenses.
