In a significant upgrade to its facilities, the Batam Class I Immigration Office has installed 15 new autogates at key ports to streamline cross-border travel processes.
The autogates, which have been set up at Batam Center and Harbourbay Port, are part of a broader effort to enhance the efficiency of immigration processes in Batam, a critical entry point in Indonesia.
Five autogates have been installed at Batam Center Port, with an additional ten at Harbourbay Port. This expansion significantly reduces waiting times for travelers entering and leaving Indonesia.

Plans are underway to install five more autogates at Batam Center Port’s arrival section, aiming to mirror the high number of autogates found at major international airports like Soekarno-Hatta.
The immigration office has conducted extensive social media and mass media campaigns to inform the public about the new autogates and how to use them efficiently.
Initial technical issues, such as server overloads during peak travel times, have been resolved, ensuring smooth operation during high traffic periods.
