In response to recent severe weather across the Kepri region, the local Brimob unit of the Kepri Police has escalated its readiness to tackle potential disasters, including floods and crocodile encounters in residential areas.

The Kepri Police Brimob unit’s intensified preparedness follows a series of extreme weather events that pose significant risks to the community, including environmental damages such as floods and wildlife threats.

Under the direction of Kepri Police Chief Irjen Pol Yan Fitri Halimansyah, the Brimob unit conducted a readiness drill to ensure that personnel and equipment are prepared for immediate deployment in disaster situations.

Activities post-drill included patrolling flood-prone and high-risk areas, such as the Sagulung housing area, known for frequent crocodile appearances, enhancing the safety and comfort of the residents.

The Brimob unit is actively engaging with the community to educate residents about flood risks and the dangers of wildlife during the rainy season, encouraging proactive measures to prevent disasters.

Kompol Darmin emphasized the importance of proper waste disposal to prevent blockages that could lead to flooding and advised against swimming in rivers during the rainy season.
