Muhammad Rudi, the Head of Batam’s Development Planning Agency and the Mayor of Batam, has embarked on a Ramadan Safari in 1445 Hijri at Nurul Iman Mosque, Pulau Buluh, emphasizing the government’s focus on developing the hinterland areas of Batam. This initiative aims to bolster tourism, considered a pivotal sector for Batam’s progress.
During his visit to Pulau Buluh on March 15, 2024, Rudi reiterated the importance of nurturing relationships and highlighted the ongoing priority to improve infrastructure and tourism in Batam’s remote areas. This effort is expected to transform these regions into attractive tourist destinations, thereby contributing to the overall advancement of Batam.
Rudi’s strategy involves the enhancement of infrastructure in Batam’s hinterland areas, such as Belakangpadang and Pulau Buluh, to strengthen the tourism sector, providing visitors with new and engaging experiences.

Tourist attractions in these islands are identified as key elements in attracting visitors to Batam. Improving infrastructure is deemed crucial for maximizing promotion and accessibility to these locations.
On this occasion, Rudi also donated SGD 4,250 (IDR 50 million) to the Nurul Iman Mosque, underlining the significance of supporting community hubs in fostering the Islamic faith and unity within Pulau Buluh.
As the Chairman of the Indonesian Mosque Council in the Riau Islands Province, Rudi’s gesture of support reflects a commitment to enhancing both the spiritual and socio-economic fabric of the community.
