Rani Rafitriyani, Chairperson of the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) in Batam, has emphasized the importance of the Batam branch of the Indonesian Shooting Association (Perbakin) in continually nurturing high-achieving athletes. Her remarks were made during the inauguration of Perbakin Batam’s new administrators for the 2023-2027 term, signaling a renewed focus on sports excellence.
At the inauguration event held at Planet Holiday Hotel, Rani congratulated the new board and shared the motto “Step Together and Achieve,” underlining the deep significance of collaboration and achievement in sports.
Rani outlined the new administration’s challenges and responsibilities, highlighting the immediate need to prepare athletes for the 2024 National Sports Week (PON) and the 2026 National Student Sports Week (Popnas).

She conveyed a message of encouragement not only to the administrators but also to the athletes, focusing on the need for dedication to achieve sporting excellence.
Rani announced that the Batam City Government is preparing a Regional Regulation as a form of appreciation for athletes, including educational and employment opportunities for retired athletes, demonstrating the city’s commitment to rewarding sporting achievements.
A call for support from all sports organizations in Batam was made to back the programs run by KONI Batam, emphasizing the belief that collective effort and divine permission can make the impossible possible.

Rani also celebrated the hosting of the Archery Championship for students across the Riau Islands at Vitka Field, Tiban, praising early competitive exposure as a means to hone and develop athletic talent.
