The former MTQ building has been transformed into the Museum Batam, offering visitors an extraordinary experience delving into the history and grandeur of Batam.
Situated at Jalan Engku Putri Utara Number 1, Teluk Kering, Batam, Riau Islands, Museum Batam is open to visitors free of charge during its operating hours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Inside the museum, galleries present a chronological account of Batam’s history, including the era of the sultans during the Riau Lingga Kingdom. Visitors can explore various collections, from brass artifacts and traditional Malay attire to cannons and ceramics.
Museum Batam not only commemorates the past but also sheds light on Batam’s modern development. Impressive collections feature photographs of the construction of the Barelang Bridge, the Simpang Jam clock, and the city’s infrastructure progress.
