Natuna’s Development Boost: Kepri Government Allocates Rp 98 Billion in 2024

The Governor of the Riau Islands Province, Ansar Ahmad, has announced a substantial allocation of Rp 98 billion from the provincial budget for continued infrastructure development and supportive programs aimed at improving the welfare of Natuna’s residents in 2024.

In a strategic move to advance the region’s development, the Kepri government is prioritizing infrastructure and welfare projects in Natuna, reflecting a commitment to regional progress and community well-being.

A significant portion of the budget, Rp 18.8 billion, is earmarked for physical construction in secondary education, encompassing high schools and vocational schools.

The Department of Housing and Residential Areas is allocated Rp 25 billion, which includes funds combined with the local legislative council’s discretionary funds for Natuna and Anambas districts.

The Department of Public Works and Housing (DPUPR) receives Rp 9.18 billion, with additional funds expected from the Presidential Instruction (Inpres) fund, including approximately Rp 15 billion for the upcoming Semala Bridge project.

Other allocations include Rp 6.3 billion for the Department of Marine and Fisheries for the social security insurance of 31,510 fishermen, and funds for the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources, social welfare, and scholarship programs.
