Ardiwinata, Head of the Batam City Culture and Tourism Office, highlights the emergence of water sports like water skiing and jet skiing as new tourism potentials in Batam for 2024, aiming to draw more international tourists to the city known as the ‘Bandar Dunia Madani.’
Besides the established golf tourism, Batam is now embracing extreme water sports such as water skiing and jet skiing, signifying a shift towards more adventurous and active tourism offerings.

Alongside water sports, activities like billiards and archery, as well as culinary tourism, are being promoted to enrich the tourist experience in Batam.
The Batam City Government is aiming to attract two million international tourists in 2024, leveraging these new tourism potentials.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, recognizes Batam’s strategic geographical location as a travel hub, especially for tourists from neighboring countries like Singapore and Malaysia.
