The account blocking process involves coordination with relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and the banking sector, to identify and restrict accounts suspected of being linked to online gambling activities.
Beyond account blocking, OJK’s strategies include special training for banks on online gambling, public education about the dangers of online gambling, and partnerships with related parties to eradicate these activities.
The Indonesian banking sector has demonstrated strong support for OJK’s anti-gambling efforts, including account blocking and transaction monitoring to ensure compliance with customer profiles.
