Heavy rainfall in Batam, Indonesia, resulted in a flooding incident at Hang Nadim International Airport, particularly affecting the waiting areas during ongoing renovation activities.
On November 23, 2023, a severe downpour led to flooding in the waiting area of Hang Nadim International Airport, raising concerns over infrastructure and renovation management.
The deluge seeped into the waiting area through gaps in the glass walls, significantly flooding the floor and prompting urgent clean-up efforts.

Pikri Ilham Kurniansyah, Director of PT Bandara Internasional Batam, acknowledged the incident, attributing it to the heavy rain combined with the vulnerability of the ongoing renovation process.
The affected waiting area, A7, was not in use by passengers at the time of the incident, as it was already earmarked for renovation.
